Opening night for TLT’s “A Christmas Story” Dec. 4

They’ve been rehearsing, set building, painting, gathering props and hunting costumes for weeks now, but Thursday, Dec. 4 is opening night for Tryon Little Theater’s Christmas classic, “A Christmas Story.”
Anna Marie Kuether directs a talented cast of adults and kids this in play, adapted for the stage by Philip Grecian from Jean Shepherd’s much-loved movie. An adult Ralph looks back to his childhood in Hohman, Indiana, and one Christmas in particular – the Christmas when his greatest desire was to own a Red Ryder 200-shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle.
The leg-shaped lamp, the embarrassing pink bunny suit, the tongue-on-a-flagpole scene, and young Ralphie having his mouth washed out with lifebuoy soap for saying a very bad word, will probably bring back memories of your own childhood.
“A Christmas Story” is a family-friendly show and will delight people of all ages. The play runs Dec. 4-7 and 11-14 with evening performances starting at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Box office hours are Mon. – Sat., 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4-7 p.m. Call TLT at 828-859-2466 or visit tltinfo.org for more information.
