PRO Physical Therapy announces that Dr. Jill Sampson, P.T. has joined the physical therapy staff in the Columbus office. Owner Dan LaPLaca says they feel very fortunate to have Sampson return to PRO.
Sampsonís first encounter with physical therapy happened when she injured her ankle playing football during her junior year in high school. Her ankle required multiple surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy. Sampson says this is when her interest in physical therapy began. After she completed her therapy, Sampson worked at PRO for a few short years as a therapy aide and front office administrative assistant.
Sampson, who grew up in Campobello, S.C., attended Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, Tenn. where she received an associate degree in pre-physical therapy. She earned her bachelorís degree in health science from Loma Linda University in California and then graduated in June 2014 with her doctorate in physical therapy. The focus of Sampsonís research and dissertation was on Parkinsonís disease.
Sampson says that her special areas of interest include manual therapy, orthopedics and overall health and wellness. On a personal note, she enjoys biking, kayaking, cooking, photography and playing music.
