Established and emerging writers are invited to share their work, finished or in progress, at the bi-monthly Literary Open Stage at the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, N.C., Friday, Sept. 12. Sign-up for the 10-minute spots begins at 6:30 p.m., with readings at 7 p.m. Listeners as well are encouraged to attend for an eclectic evening of everything from fiction and creative non-fiction, to poetry. There’s even an occasional song, and everything is original.
Prior to this month’s program there will be a special presentation by literary publicist Tracey Daniels and author Mark Schweizer of Tryon Writers regarding exciting plans for supporting area writers. Those who would like to be part of these plans, the activities they will generate or are simply curious, be at the gallery at 6 p.m. for an intriguing proposal and light refreshments.
