Simon Peter Cross went home to the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 due to an accident at his home. He was 30 years old.
Peter was born in Boulder, Colo. To Gerald and Link Cross. He was a 2003 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and currently resided in the Oak Ridge section for the last 22 years, having lived previously in Ringwood, NJ.
Peter was currently employed as an electrician’s apprentice with Morris Electric of Lake Hopatcong. Peter was an avid outdoorsman, spending many wonderful times with family and friends, fishing, camping, snow skiing and boating. He was considered and automobile enthusiast, and loved to tinker with cars.
Peter will be greatly missed by his family, fiancé and friends.
He is survived by his grandfather, Ken Cook of Landrum, S.C.; father, Gerald Cross of Oak Ridge; mother, Link Cross of Landrum, S.C.; three brothers, Christopher (Kristin), Jeremy (Rebecca) and Devon (Dani) Cross; and his fiancé, Sally Peterson.
Friends and family gathered on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. at Goble Funeral Home in Sparta, NJ. An 11 a.m. funeral service was celebrated on Aug. 28, followed by cremation. Memorial contributions in Peter’s name are being accepted at: PAWS (Pound Animal Welfare Society) of Montclair, Inc., PO Box 149, Montclair, NJ 07042.
