The Back To School Bash held at Tryon United Methodist church on Aug. 9 was very successful, with nearly 300 children and teens benefitting. John Allen Albree was one of the many volunteers who helped at the Back To School Bash. Area students from Kindergarten to twelfth grade were given free tote bags filled with school supplies. Haircuts and warm winter coats were also given to those students in need of them. Also provided for the students and their families were a hot dog cook out with chips, drinks and desserts.
The “Bash” was made possible by generous giving of time and funds from the congregation of the Tryon United Methodist Church and community minded individuals and groups.
