Chris LeVesque

Chris LeVesque died Aug. 10, 2014, at her son’s home in Oregon, of pancreatic cancer. Chris was an extraordinary woman that left joy in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Agnes Christine (Laughter) LeVesque was born on Jan. 20, 1935 in Chesterfield, S.C., the second of six children born to Maggie and Alfred Laughter. She was raised in Saluda, N.C. where she graduated high school. She attended Montret College in Montret, N.C.
She was the first person in her family to attend college where she earned a BA and MA of Education from New York State University College at Buffalo, a Master of Education/Administration from the Univeristy of Idaho and a Master of Education/Special Education from Lewis and Clark State College. She was a beloved teacher and a principal and could remember fondly every child entrusted to her care. She was a strong advocate for life-long learning and supported many charities.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John; her two sisters Nancy and Nettie; her three children Sara Bresnahan, Jerry LeVesque, Mike and his wife Debbie LeVesque.
She is the grandmother to 6 grandchildren Jon and Jason Roberts, Courtney LeVesque and Lyndsay Maderis, Robert LeVesque and John Nicols. She was the great-grandmother to 8 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers Joe and James Laughter, a sister Betty Fae Laughter and a grandchild Matthew Roberts.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Cancer Research in her name.
As per her wishes, a small, informal service will be held in her memory on August 18 at 4 p.m. at the home of her son Mike, located at 39299 Jasper-Lowell Road, Fall Creek, Ore. The interment of her ashes into the ocean will be on Aug. 30.
