Disparaging small town Southerners

To the Editor:
In response to Susan McNabb’s July 10 Tryon Diary –
Susan, perhaps you did not mean to disparage small town Southerners in your July 10 “Tryon Diary” in the Bulletin, but you did.
If you did not expect to find artists, writers, musicians, performers and people who know or have known persons in high places, perhaps you are innocently ignorant of the history and long-time inhabitants of Tryon and its neighboring towns.
Shall we send you some resumes of our accomplishments and friendships on the national and international circuits? You might be impressed.
Name-dropping is okay, I guess. Disparaging small town Southerners is not. As a small town Southerner myself, I will be glad to show you my credentials.
