“Jo” Gosnell

Marjorie  “Jo” Staton Gosnell, 84, of Markham Road, Tryon, N.C. died Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, S.C.
Born in Polk County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Bunion and Gladys Morgan Staton. She retired from Carolina Yarn Processing, Tryon, N.C.  after 31 years of service. Jo later was a CNA sitting with the elderly people in the community.  She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are:  two sons, Mike Gosnell (Darla) of Landrum, S.C. and Rick Gosnell (Darleen) of Columbus, N.C.; two sisters, Margie Smith (Tommy) of Saluda, N.C. and Della Stafford (Don) of Orange Station, N.C.; a brother, Dr. David Staton (Diane) of Warrner Robbins, Ga.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kacy Gosnell and Brett Gosnell and 2 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dencil Staton and two sisters, Arminta Staton and Arvalee Thomas and a great-grandchild, Victoria Santibanez.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Rev. Chuck Mullinax and Rev. Jimmy “Hambone” Camp officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
The family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit of St. Luke’s Hospital and the staff of Hospice for their special care.
