Stott named police benevolent officer of the year

Lt. Nick Stott (middle) was honored last week as the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association’s Mountain Chapter Officer of the Year for his dedication. Stott was given the award during the Columbus Town Council’s Thursday, March 20 meeting. Pictured with Stott are Columbus Police Chief Chris Beddingfield (left) and North Carolina Police Benevolent Association’s Division President Brandon McGaha (right). Chief Beddingfield told town council members that Stott is available at all hours and performs his duties with extreme dedication.
