Lt. Nick Stott (middle) was honored last week as the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association’s Mountain Chapter Officer of the Year for his dedication. Stott was given the award during the Columbus Town Council’s Thursday, March 20 meeting. Chief Beddingfield told town council members that Stott is available at all hours and performs his duties with extreme dedication.
