The staff and medical staff of St. Luke’s Hospital have been nationally recognized for their outstanding job of providing quality care to patients, once again rising to the top in patient satisfaction.
Outpatient services, including Emergency Department, Radiology, Lab and Outpatient Surgery, were nationally recognized by Professional Research Consultants (PRC).
PRC is an approved vendor for the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, a standardized survey to measure and compare the hospital experience.
Each team received PRC’s Four Star award for reaching the top 25 percent of other hospitals that scored between the 75th and 89th percentile.
It is based on the percentage of patients who rate the facility “excellent” for overall quality of care.
Following discharge from St. Luke’s, PRC professional surveyors contact patients via telephone for a confidential interview to assess their perceptions of patient care.
The research findings are then presented to St. Luke’s to use in continuous improvement and enhancement of patient satisfaction. This data also is used to benchmark against other facilities in the Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS), which provides management assistance to St. Luke’s.
The patient surveys provide important feedback that assists in continually assessing how St. Luke’s is doing as a place to work, a place to practice medicine and a place to receive care.
“Through dedication and determination of our employees, St. Luke’s Hospital has distinguished itself as an employee and provider of choice,” said Ken Shull, CEO. “As St. Luke’s focuses on customers’ needs and expectations, there is also the continued focus on quality patient care by following practices and protocols that have been proven to ensure the best outcome for our patients.”
