Chad Buford Rhodes

Chad Buford Rhodes, 73, passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born on March 9, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Eva Rhodes.

A truck driver and mechanic during his working life, Chad was a veteran of the U.S. Army who loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Howard (Kevin) of LaGrange, Ga.; and Leslie Masters (Daryl) of Simpsonville, S.C.; and three sisters, Virginia Wyse of Inman, S.C.; Jessie Ray of Columbus and Georgie Barton (Wendell) of Wellford, S.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jake and Madison Howard, and Jack and Ava Masters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Julian Rhodes, who died in 1991.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2013 in McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. just prior to the service in McFarland’s Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, with military rites by the Polk County Burial Squad.
