Emma Lee McCool

Emma Lee McCool, 72, of Tryon, NC passed away on Dec. 21, 2013.
She was the youngest of 14 children born to the late Fred A. and Emma Pace Metcalf.
She was the wife of the late Gary Lyle McCool for 51 years.
She was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was a strong Christian woman who lived it each and every day of her life.  She was a retired  teacher’s assistant, mail carrier and devoted caregiver to sister-in-law Maggie Metcalf.  She always put others first and cared for others more than herself.
She was the loving mother to five sons, Pat (Kim) and Kevin (Abby) of Columbus, Ken (Jill) of Matthews, Greg of Lynn, and Gerald (Lori) of Landrum; sister to L.C. Metcalf of Hendersonville and the Rev. Jim Metcalf of Russell, Mass; beloved Grammer to 13 grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services followed at the funeral home chapel conducted by the Rev. Jason Metcalf and the Rev. James Parker.  Burial was at Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery.
