Lady Wolverines grab another win on court against Lady Cardinals

Polk County scored enough points to defeat Landrum in women’s high school basketball on Tuesday, but the 61-52 final was a long way from the Wolverines’ blowout win at home last Friday.

Haley Kropp (17 points, seven steals), and Sarah Phipps (11 points, 12 rebounds) led the 4-1 Wolverines. Lyric Flood (10 points), Ashley Love (seven), Savannah Ross (six) Ashley Kropp (six) and India Godlock and Janada Carson, with two points each, rounded out the victors’ scoring.

The Cardinals’ Taylor Jenkins poured in 15 points, while Alison Jouan and Sydnie Brown added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Landrum is 1-2.

Polk hosted East henderson last night, with results not available press time. The Wolverines visit Madison on Friday, and visit North Buncombe on Tuesday.

Landrum is at Woodruff this evening, and hosts Powdersville on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
