Tryon artist Victoria Jetton’s exotic and lavish jewelry is one of the highlights of the Wonderland Gift Bazaar at the Upstairs Artspace gallery this year.
Jetton designs her jewelry using gems, brass and ivory pieces she gathers from around the world. But no matter their origin, there is always a story to accompany the final piece.
The carved mother of pearl clasp comes from China and was a game piece in gone-by days. The plastic pearl at the center of one necklace comes from an original Chanel necklace.
And the opulent round yellow stones in the Afghani necklace… another story.
The Wonderland Bazaar runs through Dec. 24.
The hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and 1–4 p.m. on Sundays.
