Arthur “Mac” McBride

Arthur Frank McBride, 87, of 738 Sandy Plains Rd. died Nov. 29, 2013 at Hospice House of The Carolina Foothills.

A native of Spartanburg County he was son of the late Acie Fay and Emma Simmons McBride and husband of the late Ruby Blackwell McBride.

He was a member of the Tryon Second Baptist Church and the Lions Club for 18 years. He served in the Army during WWII.

He was formerly employed as a milkman with Chinqupin and Kalmia Dairies and was retired from Bommer Hinge.

Survivors include two sons Caton (Kathy) McBride of Asheville and Dennis (Ruth) McBride of Landrum. One stepson Floyd McDade of Columbus, a sister in law Dottie McBride, special friend Edith Christian, eleven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Arthur Frank McBride Jr. and a grandson, Dennis Adam McBride.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Petty Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Albert Teague and Dr. Dennis Jones.

Burial will be in North Pacolet Baptist Church Cemetery.
