The newest community volunteer to be inducted into the Thermal Belt area Second Wind Hall of Fame is Linda Lee Reynolds.

President Lee Lindsey recently presented the certificate to Linda Lee at a rehearsal of the Community Chorus.

The Community Chorus welcomed the opportunity to sponsor Linda Lee for her years of volunteer efforts as a singer and fundraiser. Linda Lee is also being honored for her participation in the Tryon Presbyterian Church choir and programs, for her performances in “Home for the Holidays,” for her support of FENCE and Habitat for Humanity.

The certificate read by Lee Lindsay states, in part, that Linda Lee “has been elected to the Second Wind Hall of Fame because of a long, useful and productive life, continuing beyond retirement while others paused to rest. This person caught a Second Wind and began a new career of service to mankind.”

Her election will be celebrated by many of the 180 other current members, previously elected, who will attend the annual banquet meeting next year.

Linda Lee moved to the Tryon area in 1992 from the Winston Salem area. She attended Wake Forest University for studies in Theology and became a leader of Christian Education for her church in Winston Salem.

She served on the Arts Council, the Little Theater Board and helped to found the North Carolina Hunter/Jumper Association. Her musical talents were displayed in playing the Bass Fiddle with the Winston Salem Symphony, among her many other appearances.

Linda Lee considers her proudest achievement to have been in leading the fundraising program to establish an Intensive Care Nursery for the Teaching Hospital at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
