Silent auction, open house at Congregational Church Oct. 26

From antique quilts to Tiffany mugs to barbecue grills to bridge lessons, the public is invited to browse, place silent bids and enjoy refreshments on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The event is hosted by the Tryon Congregational Church’s women’s group, recently renamed Women of Worship (WOW).
All are also welcome to take a tour of the church. Tours will be offered on the half-hour.
Proceeds from the auction will go to WOW’s three projects for 2013-2014: support for the hospital of Dr. Anil Henry in India (global), Thermal Belt Outreach (local) and college scholarships (church).
Auction hours are 1-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church, which is located at 210 Melrose Avenue, Tryon.
