Robert Smith

Born in Ohio, he was the son of the late Buck and Jeanette Johnson Smith. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. Mr. Smith was retired from the state of Ohio as a meat inspector after 13 years of service. He moved to Polk County in 1989, coming from Arizona.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, June Dale Smith of the home; one daughter, Judy Reddix and husband William of Mill Spring; one brother, Roy Smith of Elgin, Ill. Also surviving are four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at 3 p.m. in Silver Creek Baptist Church, with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery, with military rites provided by Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.
