Local children are a mission priority at Tryon United Methodist Church, and Saturday’s annual Italian dinner provides tasty and a family-friendly opportunity to serve and be served.
First, what will you be served? Church members will offer a choice of lasagna or spaghetti along with a tossed salad, garlic bread and a variety of desserts. Feel free to bring the family: The ticket price is reduced for children aged 7-12 and younger children will be admitted free.
And whom will you serve?
Proceeds from the dinner will be directed to local children throughout the community, both directly and through the Church’s Back to School Bash, which is held just before the beginning of the school year.
Tickets can be purchased at Cowan’s Hardware and Owens Pharmacy in Tryon and at The Flower Cottage in Columbus. They can also be obtained from the church office and from church members.
Tryon United Methodist Church is located at 195 New Market Road. Call the church office at 859-9218 for more information.
