On Tuesday, March 26, the Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association opened its 2013 golfing season in the clubhouse’s beautifully decorated-for-spring Donald Ross room with a delicious breakfast prepared by June Current, chair, and her committee; Parky Flanagan, Lib McKeller, Dee White, Caroline Brown and Hoppy Long.
President Joyce Arledge welcomed the new members of the TWGA and introduced the new officers: Caroline Brown, vice president; Cynthia Terwilliger, secretary; and Georgeanne Murphy, treasurer.
Club Pro, Marc Brady welcomed the TWGA back for the new season and brought the group up to date. The breakfast was followed by a “make your own foursome” game of golf.
A reminder that in April and May the 18-holers will tee off beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m. for the 9-holers. Anyone interested in joining the Tryon Country Club and/or the TWGA, can contact the Pro Shop at 859-9561 for further information.
