Coram Johnson Jr.

A loving husband, father and grandfather who was adored by all those who knew and loved him, Mr. Johnson, a Baptist minister of 52 years, loved his Lord. The desire of his ministry was to see his family, friends and world know the salvation and saving grace he knew.

A native of Saluda, he was the son of the late Coram Daniel Sr. and Sara Bruce Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church, Landrum.

Surviving are his wife, Willie Bradley Johnson; four daughters, Linda Johnson Dukes (Michael) of Saluda, Peggy Johnson Landers (Frank) of Hendersonville, Robin Johnson Singleton (Doug) of Indiana and Evona Johnson Kilpatrick (Van) of Hendersonville; one son, Jonathan Daniel Johnson (Becky) of Tuxedo, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia Long of Alabama and Hazel Dunham of Florida; one brother, Dwane Johnson of Saluda. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Dukes, Kimberly, Kelly, Kyle and Kristen Landers, Nichole Singleton, Seth and Keith Kilpatrick, Austin, Olivia and Caroline Johnson; two great grandchildren, Brian and Colten Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daward Johnson and a grandson, Jeff Singleton.

A funeral was held Monday, June 23, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Rev. Everette Wallace Jr. officiating.

Burial followed in Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda.
