Douglas Prideaux

Born in Armonk, N.Y., he was the son of the late Henry and Cecilia Webb Prideaux. He was a retired commander in the USNR and was active during WWII and Korean Conflict. Mr. Prideaux graduated from Lehigh University class of 1939 and received his master&squo;s degree from New York University. He retired from American Cyanamid after a long career in 1978. Mr. Prideaux was a member of the Tryon Presbyterian Church, Tryon.

Surviving are: his wife of 66 years, Jean Post Prideaux; two sons, Douglas Prideaux and wife Peggy of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Peter Prideaux and wife Phyllis of New Bern, N.C.; one daughter, Penny Meisel and husband Dr. John of Bellevue, Wash.; one sister, Peggy Cartmell of Wilmington, Del. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 at

11 a.m. in the Tryon Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mary Potter officiating.
