Vestal Kuykendall

Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Celia Conner Kuykendall. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kuykendall was a retired textile employee and was of the Baptist faith.Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, Alice Styles Kuykendall of the home; one son, Ralph Kuykendall (Luella) of Landrum; one daughter, Ann K. Teague of Roebuck, S.C.; a brother, Mack Kuykendall (Merica) of Spartan-burg; two sisters, Opal Edwards (John) of Columbus and Ruby McCarter of Jackson, Tenn. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin D. Kuykendall, who died in 1972.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Dennis Jones, Rev. John Parker, Rev. Andy Parker and Rev.
