Funds will be used to provide heating assistance for residents of Polk County and Landrum.

Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry (Outreach) was recently awarded a Board Initiative Grant in the amount of $16,000 from the Polk County Community Foundation.

Funds from this grant will be used to provide heating assistance during the winter of 2013 for residents of Polk County and Landrum residents in the zip code 29356.

“We are extremely grateful to the Polk County Community Foundation for stepping in to fill this need and for allowing us to provide much needed assistance beyond the borders of Polk County,” said Carol Newton, executive director of Outreach.

Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1991.
