nce you&squo;ve seen the quilts?&bsp; Let&squo;s use the Landrum Quilters Show, to be held at the Landrum Middle School on Redland Road from June 12 to 14 as an example.
Yes, there will be nearly 200 quilts and quilted items. &bsp;
Yes, there will be a display of vintage quilt tops.
Yes, there will be &dquo;bed turnings&dquo; to display antique quilts.
Yes, there will be a display of quilts, fabric postcards, and favorite story pillows made over the years by O.P Earle Elementary students with assistance from Landrum Quilters members.
Yes, there will be samples of quilts made by the group for Ronald MacDonald House patients and families, and other charities.
Yes, there will be a display of the alphabet challenge quilts made by members.
Yes, there will be an opportunity for everyone to vote on his or her favorite quilts of the show.
Yes, there will be an opportunity to vote on your favorite leaf challenge block.
Yes, there will be opportunities to make a donation with a chance to win the beautiful appliqu´d Oak Leaf bed size quilt made by members.
Yes, there will be opportunities to take your chances on winning plentiful baskets of fabric.
Is that all there is?
Think shopping!&bsp; There will be 16 vendors, local and out of state, showing and selling their wares.&bsp; There will be fabrics, patterns, books and notions, of course, but oh, so much more! There will be yarns and embellishments, thimbles, jewelry and findings, and wooden display cases and quilt racks, to name some of the variety. &bsp;
In addition to the vendors, there will be gift shopping at the members&squo; boutique, with scores of handmade items for that special someone.&bsp; There will be opportunities to bid on quilted wall hangings, quilts and more in the silent auction.&bsp; This year, there is a special &dquo;buy it now&dquo; feature in the auction for those who don&squo;t want to wait to see if they&squo;ve outbid the competition, but want immediate gratification. &bsp;
If you still have energy and curiosity, after taking in all the quilt show has to offer, feel free to stroll through downtown Landrum, antique shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, and taking in the sights.
