Roy K. Jack

Roy K. Jack died unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2012, at a home in Holden, Maine. He was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Tryon, the son of Hugh L. and Nell (McBrayer) Jack.
Roy graduated from Mill Spring High School, class of 1952. He attended North Carolina State College. Roy served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He attained the rank of airman first class, and he was an in-flight refueling specialist. Roy operated Jack’s Carpet Cleaning business for 30 years, and he and his wife were the former co-owners of Coastal Interiors, Ellsworth, Maine. Roy was a member of St. Andrews Lodge #83 A.F. & A.M, of Bangor, Maine, Anah Shrine, and Anah Kampers. He enjoyed camping with the Anah Kampers. Roy was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
Roy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rachel (Murray) Jack; one son, Paul Jack and his wife, Allison, of Orland, Maine; two daughters, Cheryl Jack of Belfast, Maine and Lisa Ingalls of Holden, Maine; five grandchildren, Jennifer Benson, Roy Burns, Weston Ingalls, Suzanne Jack and Hugh Jack; two sisters, Rachel Ramsey of Columbus and Susan Burnett of Indian Trail, N.C., and several nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, Maine, with a Masonic memorial service at 3:30 p.m., conducted by the members of St. Andrews Lodge #83. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the family reception center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, Maine, following the Masonic service.
