What makes this area so special? It’s people, of course.  And Life in our Foothills, the Bulletin’s new monthly lifestyles magazine, tells the story of our people and area. When we launched the magazine three months ago we were hoping for positive feedback, that you would enjoy and embrace our newest endeavor. Your response has been overwhelmingly positive and more than we could have hoped for. Seems that we can’t keep Life in our Foothills on the shelves or get them into your hands quick enough.
Inside this month’s issue we are excited to share with you the story of the Tryon Country Club golf course and how it came to be. Then we’ll take you for a peek inside a 200-year-old bed and breakfast – The Oaks in Saluda – and introduce you to the innkeepers, Dale and Donna Potruski. Check out local bee keeper, Les Spangler of Landrum, then meet Russell Ruff, a young man with a passion for chess.  We invite you to pick up a copy and see for yourself, there is sure to be someone you know, a neighbor, a family member, a friend or perhaps even you!
