The festival was held at Green Creek Community Center (previously Green Creek School) and many demonstrations were given of the tasks inside and outside a turn of the century home. Antiques were on display and area history was shared with young and old.

&dquo;It was a wonderful start to what has grown to be a very successful festival,&dquo; festival publicist Ann Tucker said. &dquo;It has been a good ten years with the festival growing in volunteers, participants, and attendees each year.&dquo;

Today, Marvin Arledge, president/CEO of the Green Creek Community Center, a 501c3 corporation, along with the board of directors, oversees the plans for the festival.

The ideas from the first festival are still in place with many artisans demonstrating various crafts. A primary goal from the beginning and still today is to keep the cost as low as possible so everyone can afford to come. Parking and admission are free. The only costs are for food and the purchase of craft items.

The festival will last from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will include demonstrations, craft booths, a parade and car and tractor shows. There will also be a 4H livestock show for kids beginning at 1 p.m.

Information tents will have time and location of various events. At these tents you will need to register your children for the children&squo;s activities by 9:45 a.m.; register for door prizes which will be given throughout the day, and this is where you can also drop by from time to time to check the board and see if you have won. The community center is conducting a survey to measure interest in various art classes and other activities; these surveys will also be at the information tents.
