On Saturday, May 7 a hot breakfast will be served at Foothills Community Chapel from 7 – 10:30 a.m. The menu will be pancakes, biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage and baked goods. Dine-in or take-out will be available.
Proceeds will be given to Tori Schlabach, who is planning to accompany a group going to Uganda, Africa June 15 – 30. The mission of the group is to assist in medical needs of the sick. They will be visiting poor villages to take blood pressure readings, bandage wounds and give vitamins to those who have fever and malaria. Schlabach will assist in sorting and handing the vitamins.
The group also plans to participate in prison ministries in Africa. They will be giving soap to the prisoners and conducting services through prayer and song. The group will also visit orphanages and hospitals where they will disburse clothes and toys.
On Monday, March 28, Schlabach was involved in a serious collision when a vehicle pulled out in front of her Toyota Celica. The force of the impact broke Schlabach’s right leg. She is currently wearing a brace and is walking with the assistance of crutches. Schlabach had not originally planned to accompany the group because of her injury. She recently changed her mind, as she said God is calling her to go to Africa.
Because of her Injury, Schlabach has not been able to work to raise funds. The breakfast will take place at Foothills Community Chapel, located at 2720 Landrum Road in Columbus. The phone number of the church is 828-863-4638.
