Students brought their spare change to the school and donated money to wear hats during the school day. Students, faculty and staff members also donated money to have the opportunity to duct tape their school counselor to the wall. Several Saluda restaurants helped by allowing collection canisters to be placed at their locations, and Don Mintz Builders supplied the duct tape for the &uot;Stuck for a Buck&uot; event.Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer death among children. An estimated 850,000 Americans have blood cancers, and every five minutes, someone new is diagnosed. Since 1992, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 12 million elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide.
