Stella Young from Landrum recently won a $25 Bi-Lo gift card given by Blue Ridge Laser Eye Associates. Young participated in a recent collection of reviews for the office, which entered her in the give-away.
Young and her husband, Gene, often help at a local soup kitchen. She said at times like this, she feels God not only continues to provide for people, but he has a way of saying “thank you” to them for helping others.
Just a few weeks before winning this card, her husband had a feeling they should buy potatoes for the soup kitchen.When he walked in with 350 pounds of potatoes, the people working the soup kitchen said that they had just run out and wondered how they could get more.
Two days after they delivered the potatoes, Young received a call from Blue Ridge Laser Eye Associates telling her she had won the gift card.
“I feel that God is once again saying thank you,” Young said.
Young said they plan to give the gift card to a family that needs it much more than they do.
“Mrs. Young is a wonderful lady and we are very pleased to award the gift card to such a deserving person,” said Dr. Thomas Perraut.
