The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association opened its 2011 golfing season with a festive breakfast, catered by Rene Duval, and held in the Donald Ross room in the clubhouse on Tuesday, March 29.

Hostesses for the day were Lynn Chalmers, Ann Gargiulo and Heidi Shull. President Peggy Woodward’s opening remarks included introducing new officers Lib McKeller, vice president; Joyce Lamb, secretary; and Joyce Atkins, treasurer, with a special welcome to the newest members of the TWGA. Club Pro Marc Brady then spoke briefly, bringing the group up to date. The breakfast was followed by a “make your own foursome” game of golf.

On Tuesday, April 5, the weekly event will be Low Net and Low Puts. The sign-up deadline for each weekly event during the season is 5 p.m. on Thursdays if you plan to play the following Tuesday.
