The 2012 photo calendars are here!  The pictorial calendars in today’s paper are a gift to our readers. Produced by the staff of the Tryon Daily Bulletin and sponsored by area businesses, the calendar showcases local photographers who participated in our photo contest.
We received so many great entries, either through our website at tryondailybulletin.com, through emails or in person at our office on Trade Street. It was hard to narrow them down.  But I think we have picked the best of the best.
Congratulations to Doug Dickerson of Tryon;  the winner of our first annual photo calendar contest.  The picture, one of more than 120 that were entered into the contest, shows a cute young girl, Scout Harmon of Tryon, trying to blow the biggest bubble at a birthday party.
Many of the photo’s chosen for the inside pages automatically fit with the month they were paired up with. The June winner, taken by Trish Green shows 4-year-old Trenton Rhodes of Columbus playing in his first baseball game.  The December winner is Mandy Wolfe; her photo depicts two children mailing their letters to Santa at the Santa mailbox in Stearns Park, Columbus.
If you would like to enter the contest next year, send in pictures that represent each month.  We like to try and match up the holiday or season with the photo for that month. Also, horizontal photos work better than vertical.
