TRYON—On Friday, August 22, residents will have the chance to elect a new Dog Mayor to succeed the beloved Toby, who is completing his second term as the town’s canine leader. The Dog Mayor Election promises to be a delightful celebration for all dog lovers in the area.

“This is the perfect opportunity to showcase the charm and character of our furry friends,” said TDDA Director Lourdes Guterriez. “Whether they’re seasoned snuggle buddies, enthusiastic park ambassadors, or just have that irresistible wag in their tails, we want to see them shine.”

Pet owners are encouraged to rally their pups for the campaign trail, complete with catchy slogans and lots of community support. The excitement doesn’t stop with dogs, however. In response to popular demand, Tryon is also introducing a new honor, Mayor Purr-tem, an honorary title for cats who wish to partake in the festivities.

Residents and their pets are invited to register and participate in the fun. Campaigning begins in earnest soon as owners prepare their pets for the upcoming elections, bringing the community together in a whimsical way.
