James Patrick “Pat” Prince, 71, formerly of Columbus, NC, died July 12, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Pat was born on November 21, 1953. The Prince Family of Polk County, NC, is a lineage that has been traced back to the late 1700s in NC.
Pat is predeceased by his father, Bernard James Prince, and mother, Lorene Collins Prince.
Surviving are brother, Joe Prince of Roebuck, SC, and sister, Dianne Redden of Duncan, SC. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael.
Pat was a long-time member of the Local Steamfitters and Welders Union. He was employed at Westinghouse’s Savannah River Plant. He retired from GE Gas Turbines in Greenville, SC, after 16 years as a Mechanical Assembler.
He graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1972 in Hendersonville, NC.
He enjoyed live music, drag racing, and motorcycle racing. He frequently invited close friends to enjoy these events. Pat also enjoyed riding his own motorcycle.
The Atlanta Braves Baseball, St Louis Cardinals Baseball, and UNC Tar Heels Basketball were Pat’s favorite teams.
Pat was an avid reader with a vast knowledge of facts and trivia.
A remembrance will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 17, at The Fox Den Pub and Grill, 135 Miller Farm Rd, Inman, SC.
