RUTHERFORDTON – Kenneth Dane Lynch, born January 23, 1950, died at home on June 26, 2025, outside where he loved to be. He immediately began talking to Jesus.
Kenny retired from Duke Energy with 35 years in Vehicle Maintenance. He was also proud that he helped build St. Luke’s Hospital. Kenny was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan, racing, NASCAR, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and his grandson’s dirt track racing. He also loved camping, cutting grass, watching Gunsmoke, and listening to oldies. Kenny was a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Addie Lee Wilson Lynch and Abraham Lincoln Lynch; one brother-in-law, Ted Owens.
Surviving is his loving wife and companion of 42 years, Jackie, with whom he showed great love and treasured time with. He was her Hero; one daughter, Terri Parton (Patrick), whom he loved dearly; four grandchildren, whom he was so proud of and treasured, Chloe, Gray, Ella and Lydia; his one and only sister, Elna Owens; two brothers, Grant and Kelly Lynch. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, June 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at Coopers Gap Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Baker and Reverend Donald Hollifield officiating. Pallbearers will be Gray Parton, Colby Lynch, Nick Carswell, Joe Pleasant, Jonathan Owens, Bruce Owens, Steve Johnson, and Patrick Parton.
The family asks that everyone wear Tarheel Blue, Harley Davidson Orange, or bright colors.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
At other times, the family will be at the home.
