TRYON—The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a “Two Man” Stableford on Monday, June 16, along with closest to the pin contests on both par 3’s. The weather was perfect, and the scores were tight. The results were as follows:

1st place – Roger Dehnel & Ed Weatherby – 45

2nd place – Dave Hosick & Art Brown – 45 (lost scorecard playoff)

3rd place – Jack Saunders & Jerry Perry – 45 (lost scorecard playoff)

4th place – Brad Rakow & Ken Watson – 44

Closest-to-the-pin winners:

#3 – John Schickling – 13’ 2”

#3 Forward Tees – Jim Shirley – 12’

#8 – Dave Hosick – 21’ 8”

#8 Forward Tees – Tom Bolling – 10’ 9”

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a “Throw Out Worst hole” format on Tuesday, June 17. It was a close competition except for one team that ran away with the win. The results are listed below:

1st place – Patty Aldred, Reid Toth, Claudia Law, (BP) Kathy Clark – 45

2nd place – Joyce Arledge, Diane Torres, Jo Ann Silvia, Stephanie Lyons – 56

3rd place – (Tie) – Peggy Henson, Lisa Bjerring, Caroline Brown, Inglis Sellick, Tracey Beaver, Deborah Carmichael, Becky Kennedy, Kathy Clark – 57
