Free essentials, food, care packages provided to residents in need

 

POLK COUNTY—Following the success of its first community giveaway in May, the Pea Ridge Partnership recently announced its next Sunday’s Blessings event, scheduled for Sunday, June 22, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at 31 Amos Miller Lane, Rutherfordton, NC. This event is held in collaboration with the Polk County Referral Center and sponsored by Empowering Through Beauty, Inc.

At Sunday’s Blessings, residents in need received free household goods and essentials, food, and care packages filled with thoughtful items and various resources.

“Our first event in May showed us how important this work is,” said Tanisha Akinloye, founder of Empowering Through Beauty and the Pea Ridge Partnership initiative. “We’re creating a consistent space where the community can come together, feel supported, and receive essentials with love and dignity.”

All are welcome to attend—no registration is required. PRP invites individuals, families, and neighbors to stop by after church or weekend activities to receive the resources they need in a warm, supportive environment.

“This initiative is part of the broader mission of the Pea Ridge Partnership, which brings together organizations, leaders, and residents to collaborate on improving the preservation of health, well-being, and quality of life throughout Polk County,” said Akinloye.
