TRYON—The second annual Global Food Fest, organized by the Tryon Downtown Development Association, will return as part of Tryon’s 4th Friday celebrations on June 27. The Food Fest will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. downtown, with each participant setting up in front of businesses downtown so attendees can stroll from one tasting station to another.
According to TDDA Director Lourdes Gutierrez, the event will be an evening for food lovers and families alike.
“We had a large turnout last year, and we hope to add even more participants this time,” Gutierrez said.
The Global Food Fest invites local culinary enthusiasts to share their favorite international recipes. Interested cooks are encouraged to prepare enough food for 50 to 75 samples. In addition to the food, the festival encourages chefs to showcase their culinary heritage through decorations, artifacts, and costumes representative of the regions they are representing.
Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dish throughout the evening. Winners will receive prizes, including gift cards for the top three entries.
