Teachers at Saluda Elementary School recently completed A+ Professional Development training, participating in music, theater, art and movement activities designed to enhance classroom instruction.
The professional development session provided educators with new strategies for integrating arts across all academic subjects. Teachers engaged in hands-on activities throughout the day and gained ideas for implementation in their classrooms.
Saluda Elementary has maintained its designation as an A+ School of North Carolina since 1996. The A+ Schools program is a whole-school reform model that integrates the arts across all subjects to enhance learning and create a creative school environment.
The training aligns with the school’s long-standing commitment to arts integration as a teaching methodology. The professional development prepares teachers to continue implementing the A+ model in their daily instruction.
