POLK COUNTY—The third annual Game of Throws Amateur Disc Golf Tournament is set to take place on Saturday, June 14, at the Wolfman Woods Disc Golf Course in Lattimore. Hosted by Outreach, this year’s event promises to be a day filled with friendly competition, community engagement, and disc golf fun.

Previously held at the course at Harmon Field, which sustained severe damage due to Tropical Storme Helene, the transition to Wolfman Woods offers players the chance to showcase their talents and enjoy a day outdoors. The event is open to all ages and skill levels. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

This year, players can choose between two exciting layouts, each tailored to a different skill level. The ORNG Short Layout spans 3,583 feet, making it a perfect choice for beginners and families seeking a relaxed disc golf experience. For those looking to challenge themselves, the WHT Long Layout extends 5,402 feet, testing players’ distance and precision.

The tournament schedule consists of the ORNG Division from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the WHT Division from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. 

The Game of Throws is an opportunity to support Outreach’s ongoing mission to assist the local Polk County community. 

“This tournament is not just about the game; it’s about building community,” organizers said. “Whether you’re picking up a disc for the first time or you have years of experience, we invite everyone to come out, enjoy the game, and connect with fellow disc golf enthusiasts.”
