MILL SPRING – The Polk Referral Center and the Sunny View Clubhouse recently announced that they will host a Summer Fair on Friday, June 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Sunny View Elementary School. The event is free and features a fun-filled lineup of activities for families and residents of all ages.
Attendees can look forward to a kid’s sprinkler dance party, a bouncy house, and lively games of cornhole. For those feeling hungry, hot dogs and popsicles will be available, along with a special Flip-Flop Giveaway. Additionally, guests will have access to valuable community resources, including wellness checks provided by AmeriHealth Caritas Health Bus and Blue Ridge Health of Columbus.
The Polk Referral Center is a local 501 (c) (3) charity founded after Helene dedicated to supporting the residents through essential disaster relief and referrals. Its mission focuses on providing immediate aid to individuals and families facing challenges while connecting them with long-term resources for recovery and support.
The Sunny View Clubhouse was originally launched through cooking classes and quilting groups spearheaded by Greek Underwood. The organization has since flourished and hosts a diverse range of events, including birthday parties and family reunions, as well as providing resources to the community, such as firewood and food banks.
Local nonprofits interested in securing a booth space at the Summer Fair are encouraged to reach out via email at info@polkreferralcenter.org.
