If you have followed Ukraine’s wildly successful, secret attack on Russia a few days ago, you are aware that this attack will go down in history as a game changer in this years’ long, bitter slog.
If you haven’t, and you will allow Aunty Pam to fill you in, the tale will serve as a jaw dropping chapter of ‘The Mouse That Roared’ with a dash of ‘Ocean’s 11’ thrown in.
Forever the world has been told Ukraine cannot possibly win this war because their military simply cannot compare in size to Russia. But what we haven’t been told is that their Special Forces are incredible. In fact, so effective are they that these forces managed to infiltrate deep inside Russia and position military assets outside at least four major airbases.
How did they do it? Believe it or not, they carried hidden drones inside beat up old box trucks that were carrying wooden sheds which went completely unnoticed by the Russians. As told by Benjamin Jenson, Senior Fellow at Strategic International Studies: “So for all Russia knew, there’s some drunk Russian guy driving his truck around the base…and all of a sudden the roof flies off and ‘first person (remote controlled) viewed drones’ are targeting some of the most valuable military assets in the Russian arsenal: long-range strategic bombers. Initial reports are 40 damaged or destroyed, so that’s $7 billion of equipment taken off the battlefield in one day, that reflects a year of brilliant military planning.”
Fun fact: those missile carrying planes are no longer being built and this attack therefore hinders Russia’s ability to bomb anyone else—including the US—with long range missile attacks. So a big tip of the hat to you, guys.
Just the thought of all those Jed Clampett trucks with their roofs flying back, probably by remote control, is delicious and reminiscent of ‘Get Smart.’ The Russian drivers, it is suspected, were bribed and may have had no idea what they were carrying. But what a phenomenal orchestration of perfect synchronization.
Military experts are in agreement that this sort of attack may just be the warfare of the future— that brilliantly executed special forces attacks with the use of drones can substantially level the playing field between adversaries. And no, the U.S. were not informed of this attack in advance. President Zelensky kept it quietly up his sleeve. Which is easy to do when you don’t wear a suit.
