During the VFW and American Legion Memorial Day Service held at McFarland Funeral Home (due to rain, Liam Preston, son of Scott & Ashley Preston, was introduced as the Buddy Poppy Prince representing the NC VFW Department of North Carolina. Liam competed for VFW Post #9116 against students from other VFW Posts in NC. Two other Services were held at Autumn Care in Saluda and at the Saluda Veterans Park.
