“Renewed Hope for Hemlocks” presentation set for Saluda Library

SALUDA—The Saluda Library will host “Renewed Hope for Hemlocks” Tuesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. Organizers invite the community to discover hemlocks’ foundational ecological role, learn about the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and the challenges it presents, and explore the latest management practices to restore hemlock health at the program. 

Landowners and environmental enthusiasts will learn about what can be done to preserve hemlocks on their property and beyond. This program will be presented by Olivia Hall, Communications and Educational Outreach Manager, and Ayla Busch, Stewardship and Conservation Education Associate, with Hemlock Restoration Initiative (HRI).

The Saluda Library Speaker Series is held on the second Tuesday of the month at 44 West Main Street. This program series began in 2024 thanks to a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, and is now made possible thanks to the continued partnership between Polk County Public Libraries and Conserving Carolina.
