Tryon Country Club held its annual “Memorial Day Scramble” golf tournament on Monday, May 26, with a delicious lunch following the golf. There were 13 foursomes competing for the title of Champion. The scores were low, with several teams having an opportunity to win as Gross or Net Champions. The winners were as follows:

1st place Gross – Simon Behan, Cavin Behan, Mario Mason, Chris Mason – 29

2nd place Gross– Jerry Perry, Jerry Pospisil, George Torres, Bill Basye – 29 (lost scorecard playoff)

1st place Net – Diane Torres, Stephanie Lyons, Susie Gurnik, Lisa Bjerring – 22.1

2nd place Net – Hub Arledge, Joyce Arledge, Moose Penfold, Becky Kennedy – 24.6

Closest-to-the-pin winners:

#3 – Jim Shirley – 5’ ½”

#8 – Joyce Arledge – 10’ 1 ½”
