The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played an “Individual Point Quota” format on May 19, along with closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3’s. The weather was perfect, and the scores were low. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Jerry Perry – +10

2nd place – (Tie) – George Torres +3 – Russ Rabenstein +3 – Mike Bates +3

5th place – (Tie) – Jim Shirley +2 – Richard Barraud +2

 

Closest-to-the-pin:

#3 – Rusty Stokes – 10’ 3”

#3 Forward Tees – Dennis Sakos – 2’ 6 ½”

#8 Forward Tees – Jerry Perry – 2’ 2”

 

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a 2-person alternate shot format on May 20.  The scores were close, and everyone had a few laughs. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Jo Ann Silvia & Stephanie Lyons/Inglis Sellick – 45

2nd place – Patty Aldred & Becky Kennedy – 45

3rd place – Joyce Arledge & Faith Weathington – 49

4th place – Peggy Henson & Lib McKeller – 50

5th place – Marge Avery & Deborah Carmichael – 51

6th place – Diane Torres & Lisa Bjerring – 53
