COLUMBUS—On Thursday, May 15, the Foothills Chamber of Commerce held its monthly Business After Hours event at the Steps to Hope Thrift Store, located at 232 E. Mills St. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for chamber members to network, forge new connections, and learn more about the thrift store’s mission in the community.

Steps to Hope Thrift Store plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s operations, which combat domestic violence and sexual assault in Polk County and the Upstate. Donations made to the thrift store and Steps to Hope Barn in Landrum are tax-deductible, and merchandise sales contribute nearly half of the funding for the organization’s programs and services.

“We have welcomed many new members during the month of April and the first part of May, several of whom were introduced and welcomed at the event,” said Chamber Marketing Manager Olivia Whiteside. “It’s exciting to see the growth of our members’ organizations and businesses while also hearing about the connections made and support they receive from these events.”

The Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce continues to serve the business communities in Tryon, Landrum, Columbus, and Saluda. The next Business After Hours event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., June 19, at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. For more information, visit carolinafoothillschamber.com.
