One Unit AAU team finishes in second place at Mother’s Day Tournament

COLUMBUS—The One Unit AAU basketball organization had another successful finish, as their 5th-grade girl’s team secured second place at the Amateur Sports Mother’s Day Tournament held in Taylors this past weekend.
Coach Terry Whiteside expressed his pride in the girls’ performance, stating, “This Mother’s Day weekend, our team brought their A-game and proudly secured 2nd place in the championship.”
The dedicated coaching staff, including Andrew Mulls, Donte Bradshaw, and Kay Lindsey, played an integral role in guiding the girls throughout the tournament. The team roster included Amiyah Whiteside, Kinley Mulls, Bristol Hall, Terrica Wilkins, Myrakle Gary, Neysah Engle, Cadence Bradley, Lindsey Cannon, and Lydia Bradshaw.
“Their hard work, unity and passion lit up the competition, proving once again One Unit AAU is a team to watch. Congratulations to these incredible young athletes,” Whiteside added.
One Unit AAU is committed to fostering a love for basketball while cultivating well-rounded athletes through competitive play and community involvement. Currently, the organization fields a 5th-grade girls’ team, a 5th-grade boys’ team, and a 6th-grade boys’ team, all of which are part of the Amateur Athletic Union, known for its competitive youth basketball programs.
