GREEN CREEK—On Saturday, May 17, Martha’s Amish Bakery will host a Spring Vendor Fair at its location. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to the owner, Freida Grabar, the fair will feature 10 local vendors offering a variety of products, including pottery, mosaics, stained glass, and custom cutting boards. All proceeds will go to the individual vendors.
Along with the various stalls, breakfast and fellowship will be available for attendees, as well as a toddler station featuring areas for children to play. There will also be live bluegrass music performances by various employees of the bakery.
Grabar said that she wants to bring life to the area of Green Creek and that her Amish heritage encourages everyone to take care of each other. “I try to foster that type of feeling in the community here,” she said.
Grabar plans to hold the fair every spring and fall. She hopes it will grow into a community function and that more people will become interested in helping plan the event.
All those who wish to come to the fair are warmly welcomed.
Martha’s Amish Bakery has been in business since 2014 and continues to grow its stock of unprocessed, natural, and locally sourced ingredients and hand-baked goods, which Grabar said is important to honor her Amish roots.
Martha’s Amish Bakery is located at 6431 S NC 9 Hwy, Columbus. It’s open Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
